Artists are free to sell their artwork. No commission is taken. Visitors and collectors may leave optional tips, contributing to a collective solidarity fund supporting the artists involved.

Who can apply ?
This open call is for artists working in visual arts, photography, poetry, or interdisciplinary practices, aligned with the themes of friendship, resistance, or/and burnout.
Is this project organized by Kunstraum? Is this affiliated with Kunstraum?
No. This is an independent project curated by Aby Mbaye as part of her residency at Kunstraum in New York which will take place during Spring 2026 (April to June)
Kunstraum is the host residency space and community but is not involved in the organization of this project.
This project is an independent artistic initiative curated by Aby Mbaye, developed as part of her residency. It is not affiliated with or operated by Kunstraum, but can became a partner in the future.
Can I submit more than one artwork?
No. Each artist presents one artwork only, to ensure:strong curation, equal visibility; clarity of the exhibition narrative.
Par contre, you will have an online gallery on my website where you can present between 3 and 11 artworks.
What kind of artworks are accepted for physical exhibition?
We prioritise minimalist artworks, meaning: easy to install
reasonable size, adaptable to exhibition constraints.
If you're unsure, you can submit your work, and we’ll validate together.
Will my work be promoted?
Yes. The project includes social media exposure, editorial features, online visibility. Additional promotional services may be offered and may include Artist interview (written or video), Podcast feature, Video presentation / reel creation
These are designed to increase your visibility and support your sales.
When is my participation confirmed?
Your participation is confirmed after your submission and your payment.
After 14 days your payment is non-refundable, as they secure your participation and production costs. Before 14 days, your payment is partially-refundable.

What kind of public will see my artwork?
Your work will be exposed to a diverse and international audience, both online and physically during the residency. This includes: art lovers and collectors, curators and art professionals, entrepreneurs and creative leaders
members of the artistic collective, and a wider digital audience through social media and online exhibitions.
I will also be connected to the local art scene, especially in Brooklyn. This may include visits from curators, collectors
art investors, and participants attending workshops or events. This creates real visibility opportunities within an authentic artistic ecosystem, both physical and digital.
