KENGY MONÉ is a West Indian-American multidisciplinary artist based between London and Ramsgate, a seaside town in southeast England. She holds an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art (2019). Moving fluidly across photography, film, installation, jewellery/metalsmithing, and screen printing, her work explores identity, sexuality, and spirituality, celebrating the aesthetics and culture of Blackness across the African diaspora.

Where Chaos Meets Vision

 

In Untitled, Kengy Moné captures a suspended moment charged with ambiguity. Two arms emerge against an open sky, one clenched, the other holding a machete, immediately evoking tension, power, and the possibility of violence.


Yet, the vastness of the sky and the drifting clouds transform the scene. Between the gestures, a face seems to appear, as if the image itself were watching, questioning, or dreaming. This duality invites multiple readings: confrontation or protection, threat or transformation.


Friendship and resistance are not literal but symbolic, held in the space between the two forms, in what could still shift. Within Artist in Chaos, the work becomes a turning point: where violence is
